Tanzania AB Umoja Natural
Price range: £12.00 through £35.00
The Origin Value of Tanzania
This AB lot is grown at 1,650–1,800 meters, where cool mountain nights help the beans develop slowly and build rich density. Local farmers from the Umoja cooperative hand-pick and carefully sort the cherries before drying them on raised African beds for up to three weeks. The natural process brings out deep fruit sweetness and creates a bright, vibrant cup with a lively character.
Tasting Notes
Bright tropical fruit leads the cup, with notes of ripe strawberry and sweet, jammy pineapple. A touch of jasmine adds a light floral aroma, while the finish brings a smooth raw cane sugar sweetness. Expect a full, rich mouthfeel balanced by crisp acidity.
Description
The Umoja lot comes directly from established partnerships with dedicated smallholder farmers in Tanzania. Local communal processing centers manage the highly delicate natural drying phase to avoid any unwanted fermentation. We reject industrialized mass production. Instead, our team roasts these dense AB beans carefully by hand in small, monitored batches. We hand-roast to preserve the volatile aromatic compounds that heavy commercial machines typically destroy. This careful application of heat ensures the beautiful aroma and natural sweetness remain perfectly intact. We process every batch under strict cupping assessments before final approval. We seal the coffee bags immediately after roasting to protect the flavor profile.
Thames Valley Coffee offers this premium Tanzanian as whole beans. We also provide it as a custom ground for filter, espresso, cafetiere, and Aeropress brewing methods. The product is available now for both wholesale partners and retail coffee lovers across the United Kingdom.
